Pretty good RPG on 360 from 2007. Worth your time once you're done with the PS2's RPGs.

But that last sentence is more of an entendre since there are a LOT more better RPGs on PS2 to play than this. But do not get me wrong because Blue Dragon is one of the few RPGs on 360 that are somewhat worth playing.

I say this because the story itself is so so very much cliche', and i mean once you have played so many you just get tired of the same if not altered a bit differently story. (Save the world from the bad guy).

The game itself is turn based, you have these Dragons who assist you by giving you certain skills from their jobs. a la' Final Fantasy tactics which you have to level them up from battles to gain better skills. The cool part though is that you can combine skills to modify your character/s for battle.

Grinding is not so much of a necessity here because for any of you vets out there who know in rpgs, that when you reach a certain town and there is better equipment and at that time you have no money to buy them just go outside and fight the random mobs for both xp and cash in order to gain stronger character, which in a way will overpower you just a bit.

Achievement wise this game is very time consuming and you have to be very methodical if you want to get the full 1000g. There are several achs that can only be gained at a certain point and after that its no going back. There is a max level all characters one which would take you quite a while and of course, several bonus boss defeat them achs too.

Blue Dragon i would say is not as bad as Enchanted Arms when compared to exclusive RPGs on 360 to say the least, but its pretty much a tier higher than it. Of course once you have gone next gen you should try this out. But by the time your reading this there are probably a handful more RPGs that came out.

I recommend playing this if your on a budget, or have bought and played all the RPGs on 360 depending on the current availability of RPGs.
