For a vampire game it's a bloody good time but I would prefer Soul Reaver more to say the least.

User Rating: 7.7 | Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2 XBOX
Story: The story goes like this: 400 years have passed since the vampire Kain damned the world in the original Blood Omen, choosing to rule the world in damnation then die for it's salvation. Now Kain, who once controlled the land of Nosgoth with his vampire armies, finds his brethren slain and his dark powers stripped by a mysterious figure. To reclaim his rule and exact his vengeance, Kain must dispatch armies of zealot soldiers and overcome legions of demons in order to uncover the ominous plot that threatens the land he seeks to conquer. The story is okay but it does get annoying when Kain gets all obsessed with Nosgoth and keeps saying that he's gonna rule it. Whoop-de-doo, we heard you the first few times already. Though the whole vengance aspect of the story is always good.

Gameplay: In this game you play as a vampire named Kain who seeks vengance and wants to once again rule Nosgoth. There are 11 long chapters/levels to play through and when I say long, I mean long as hell. A weird but cool thing that I notice is that every few chapters or so Kain changes his wardrobe which are pretty cool looking. Some of these levels include The Slums, Lower City, Upper City, and the Sarafan Keep, just to name a few. Most of the levels consist of solving puzzles, opening doors, and of course killing enemies. Speaking of killing, Kain's basic attack is just slashing with his sharp claws which is pretty effective on most enemies. Once you kill an enemy with your claws then you can suck their blood, but instead of sucking blood through the neck the old fashioned way, Kain can suck the victim's blood through the air without even touching them which is a cooler way of sucking blood in my opinion. Some of your enemies if not most of them will have a weapon and once you kill them you can take there weapon. Some of these weapons include a spiked club, a double sided saber ( like Darth Maul's double sided light saber), and a few types of swords. Most of the enemies in this game are pretty easy to beat like the basic serafan guards because all you have to do is block all there attacks until there done and kill them. But, the only enemies who present a challenge would be the knights, glyph guards, and beast demons because some of them have an unblockable charging magic attack which can be easily avoided by dodging it and attacking them. Alright, now for the bosses, there are five of them to be exact. Most of them are pretty challenging but pretty easy too. Once you defeat a boss you earn a new vampire ability. There are 7 vampire abilities total though you start out with two of them at the beginning of the game. They are mist and fury. With Mist: when your in a foggy area you become invisible and with this done you can perform a stealth kill on an enemy. Some of Kain's stealth kills include snapping there neck or with a weapon decapitating them which is pretty brutal and cool to do. As for Fury: this allows Kain to perform a stronger and more powerful attack using claws or weapons. It's a pretty handy ability. The other vampire abilities are pretty awesome, I don't think there was one I didn't like. I'll just let you find out the other vampire abilities for yourself.

Graphics: Blood Omen 2's graphics isn't anything out of the ordinary but they do look good to say the least. The levels themselves look nice like the gothic architechure which is dark and grim which gives it a nice feel to the game's atmosphere. Character models look well done like Kain for example who looks pail as death. Seeing Kain suck blood out of a corpse and then seeing his eyes glow red is just plain cool.

Sound: The music is in the game is kind of boresome. But, it does fit the mood of the game which is dark and grim. The voice acting in this game is pretty decent. It's kind of funny listening in on other people's conversation when you walk by. Hearing Kain slurping up the blood of a victim is nice to hear.

Replay Value: Once you beat this game, you probably won't come back to it for a while but all and all it's still a good game to play.
