Extremely under rated
This was the first game I ever owned for the Xbox, and I remember being amazed at the graphics, and loving the quirky style. From Blinx's cheeky smile, to the massive detail on the fur and leather.
The idea is to eliminate all of the time monsters in the area within 10 minutes before time and space rapture and the area is wiped from existance. This gives it another edge of challenge that it otherwise wouldn't have. Although it can be it's demise in later levels.
It's feel and style also comes from the sound. Boings, squelches, wirly bloop noises. It just makes it feel even more charming. And there really is nothing like Blinx chearing ^_^
You have to kill monsters by vacuuming junk into your timesweeper and firing it out at the monsters. nothing else to say really.
The biggest factor of the gameplay is the timetraveling. You can pause time, rewind time, fast forward yourself, slow down time, and record yourself. This makes for some really innovative gameplay. Forget Prince of Persia, this was hear first. PoP never deserved all those time traveling jokes, Blinx was there first :(
Time Travel also is needed in puzles. For example, standing on a statue thta has collapsed, and rewinding time to get to the higher area, or recording yourself on the end of a see-saw, and once fininshed recording, the 'real' you stands n the other end, and the recorded you jumps on the see-saw as you did, and throws you into the air.
There is one problem with Blinx-the difficulty. I will let you all in on a secret. I cheated to complete this game. It's meant to be mainly aimed at kids, but I remember a 7 year old with this game wanting me to do half of the game for him! The last boss is ridiculously hard as well. It's even up their with Ninja Gaiden as far as difficulty goes.
Can't think of a way to end this, so just give it a chance if you see if for a few bucks :)
