Ichigo Kurosaki and the rest of the bleach crew really packs a punch in this fighting game for the PSP. A big punch!

When I loaded up the game a grin went across my face as the familiar theme of Bleach played alongside a not so familiar animation, which was cool. I went straight to the "Vs. Cpu" mode although I could've gone for either the "Story", "Time attack", "Survival", "soul Vs." or the "Appendix" mode. I then was introduced to the very plain fighter interface i was used with from any other fighting game. The game features sweet cell shaded graphics that is similar to the Naruto games. The actual gameplay part of the game is a basic version of tekken, sort of. It features a neat super-trick function that almost seems like a rip-off of Naruto where you tap a combination of two buttons or more and get to see a neat animation of the character saying something obsolete and then attacking the opponent viciously. There is also a bar next to the health gauge that displays the amount of spirit each of the character's have, this will determine wether you can attack or not. Otherwise, you have your standard kick\punch buttons. However, to jump you gotta press triangle in stead of pressing up. Naturally there's a moves list that you can access in-game. Since there are'nt really any hard moves to perform neither does the game need a practice mode. This also means that the game really is'nt up there with top fighter games like Tekken5 and Virtua Fighter: Evolution. Unfortunately there are only 5 character's to choose from right off the bat which gives the game a skinny feeling. Luckily though, these are the absolutely necessary character's from the series and are a good replica of those of the anime with satisfying moves that will leave the average Bleach fan wanting for more. The story mode is basically just a series of fight's accompanied by a neat cartoonish storyline interrupting the combat every other round or so. This is good and all, but considering that there are no cut-scenes at the completion of the story-mode, it poses in a skinny way. If you're looking for a real challenge then this might not be the game for you. If your only looking for a quick fight with some of your favorite characters from the anime, Bleach, then I'd reccomend this game. Besides, there are'nt any better fighter games out for the PSP at the moment.
