Ever wondered, why glitches can be scary?
The story begins just after the end of the American Civil War, you play as Lazarus, a soldier who lost his way home and arrived in a town called Burkittsville. A young girl and her grandmother find him and help him to recover from the wounds he received when fighting, they also learn that he forgot about most of his past. When an unexpected event happens the soldier gets his chance to help the girl and her grandmother and so he ventures into the unknown. One more thing that you need to know is that we get to play both in the past and the present time, which is a big addition to the whole game.
Probably the most outdated factor of Blair Witch Volume 2 is the graphics. They don't look very bad, but you may come across glitches. Sometimes I got stuck because a piece of invisible terrain blocked my way, the only thing I can say - very irritating... However the graphics do their work and create the right environment. The controls may at first cause you some problems but eventually you will get used to them.
Blair Witch Volume 2 has great sound. It will create a mysterious atmosphere and enhance the scary parts of the game. It has its own specific feeling unlike many movie based games that follow the story and try to recreate the movie closely which often doesn't work as well as the original medium.
If you have watched the movie and you liked it, go buy this game because it will give you some good times. It is a horror game, that has its fright moments and although glitches might annoy you, they can sometimes make a game like this even scarier. So yeah, whenever you get the chance, pick it up, especially now as you can get it for cheap. It was very enjoyable for me and I recommend it to anyone who wants to explore some underrated and less critically acclaimed games out there.
