Why does the game keep locking the other two songs when I start it up?

I have been playing this game for a day now, and I've only beaten the first level. However, when I start it up again it takes me back to the first level and makes it impossible for me to select the second level that I get to even though I can select it after beating the first level. Does the game automatically delete any progress you make after you exit the game and go back to the Wii Menu? Help, please.

To unlock levels, you just need to beat the level before. However, to keep them unlocked, you must get a high score on the previous level. For example, if I beat Transition and get on the high scores list, Descent will always be unlocked. If I just beat Transition without getting on the high scores board I will unlock Descent, but if I reset or go back to the Wii home menu, Descent will be locked again.
