Jeff breaks it down and tells you why, exactly, BioShock is so awesome. Take a look.

this was on XB on demand a while back for 5 bux (!!!) and i somehow didn't get it. still kicking myself...

I know this is super old but, i dont get the part about exploration. You NEED to ecplore on harder modes for health and other things. Those big daddies are hard and if your not well stocked in everything they can take you down no problem. So going out of your way to explore areas with trashcans, suitcases, tables, under beds, etc. really breeds exploration...and is till to this day is the best game I have played since this released. Even bioshcok infinite was lacking something that this had. ie better upgrades, the hacking game. this game is a masterpiece and will be in my top 5 games of all time probably forever.

Just got FC 3 and if in to it definitely be checking out this game next.  Usually do 3rd person, but looks like I've missed some great FP titles over the years!

@ilynovi I'm like you dude, love my 3rd person titles but I usually make exceptions if the 1st person title is good enough:

Like the Part 1 & 2 of this & part 1 of "The Darkness"

Now THIS is a REAL review...not saying the one the present days are lame or so...but I kinda find the extra detail given by the reviewer like Jeff in this case...as it may not seem like much, but is kinda helpful...Other than that, Bioshock is a GREAT game. Can't wait for Infinite next year...

Played this a couple years ago and decided to play again. Really an outstanding game. The world just sucks you in and makes you want to see what happens, and the story, atmosphere and gameplay just kept me playing. Honestly one of the best games I've ever played.

Played the demo on Steam, it's awesome. And I only played it for 15 minutes. Getting it soon for PC.

Is it a steal of a deal if I got both Bioshock and Bioshock 2 today for only $18 Canadian?

@BrutalRevenge I got mine the other day for 17 American! Both games just like you! Only a one dollar price difference. Play the games if you haven't, they are amazing!

Bioshock isn't a bad game, but I don't think it's nearly as good as Jeff and the general public make it out to be.

@xboxgameman Correct me if I'm wrong, because I might be. But I do not believe there is multiplayer in Bioshock. There is in Bioshock 2 though. Enjoy the game:) even though you posted that two years ago. Lawlz

@thefireflame actually bioshock 3 is still listed as a separate title from bioshock infinite. infinite isnt technically part of the "rapture franchise" so they're waiting to slap the #3 onto a different game i believe

@Sukharevskaya bioshock 3 is called bioshock infinite and it is in a floating city

I got the game maybe a month ago and i LOVED it, tho sad to say that i was so hyped before i got it i diged into some info that i didnt wana kno before i played, and it sorta killed the games story, and i didnt get the feel of the '07 crowd but its still a 9.5 for me

When I first played this game, I didn't expect it be anywhere near as good as it was. A must play game I think.

I just got this game a few days ago off Xbox games on demand. I was never really excited about it upon release. After playing, it's a very solid, and creepy shooter. It's not scary like Deadspace or Doom 3 but it is definitely an atmospheric and enjoyable shooter. This is a good review.

ahoberer78
ahoberer78

In my opinion, it didn't look like that good of a game, granted I haven't played it yet. But the review didn't really get me too excited about it. I especially didn't like all the arrows and hints, whats the point of the game, is there a good storyline?

harry781012
harry781012

i just finished the second bioshock and i am not back to playing the first, i got to say, the second clearly lacks the atmosphere compare to the first one, you almost NEVER get surprise in the second one, or even creep out a little. though the combat in the second one is pretty awesome

It would be nice if this guy could express his enthusiasm a little better. I get where he's coming from, with all the, "Wow man, that was a deep and involving experience" thing, but it needs to be conveyed.
