Bioshock is an absolute great game. It is highly addictive and one of the best game I've played. And it's not just me saying this. Critics have described the game as,"Highly Addictive", and "One of the best games of it's time". Bioshock also got Game Of The Year in 2007.
Bioshock starts off with a plane crash in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, with only one survivour...YOU. You, Jack, who stumbles upon the doorway to an underwater city, Rapture. "A city where the artist would not fear the censor. Where the scienist would not be bound by petty morality. Where the great would not be constrained by the small. And with the sweat of your brow, Rapture can become your city as well." These are the words Andrew Ryan, the builder and founder of Rapture, gave to you as you entered the underwater city.
You enter the city via an underwater elevator known as a "Bathesphere". You witness a splicer, a mutated human from using plasmids, attacking a non-mutated human. You soon recieve a phone call from inside the bathesphere. Atlas, via the service radio found in the bathysphere, assists Jack in making his way to safety, while Ryan, believing Jack to be an agent of a surface nation, uses Rapture's automated systems and his pheromone-controlled Splicers against him. Atlas tells Jack that the only way he can survive is to use the abilities granted by plasmids, chemically enhanced medicines capable of giving you powers, and that he must kill the Little Sisters, the harvesters of rapture, to extract their ADAM, which powers your plasmids. Overhearing Atlas' words, Dr. Tenenbaum , a crazy doctor who created the Little Sisters, intercepts Jack, and urges him to save the Little Sisters instead, giving him a plasmid that will displace the embedded sea slugs in each Sister, which makes them mutated. The Little Sisters are protected by fowl beats in diving suits known as Big Daddies.
This game may sound complicated, but it is outstanding. I'll leave the rest of the game for you to figure out, and highly recommend it to anyone and everyone. This game is a must buy for...well anyone who can get their hands on it.
