Rapture is an experience you will remember for all the right reasons.

User Rating: 9.5 | BioShock PS3
Bioshock is one of those games that rely solely on its single player campaign and it really shows in terms of things being knocked over and glass being damaged to make it look realistic.

Story

Well you are in Rapture and are looking to get out and kill Andrew Ryan but what you get a bit of an unwarm welcome. Moments after injecting a Plasmid you pass out and Splicers look around at you and then shortly after a Big Daddy and Little Sister show up as well.

Gameplay

The game plays really smoothly and you always seem to know where you are going most of the time thanks to an arrow pointing you in which way you need to be heading. Sometimes it can be difficult to figure out what to do but searching Rapture is an experience and a half. You collect different types of Guns, like Shotguns,Grenade Launchers,Machine Guns and other sorts of guns in games these days but you get a Wrench as a Melee Weapon and they are key to taking out the Splicers and other enemies.

You know the Big Daddies with those Little Sisters you have to defeat them to either Harvest them or Rescue them and it plays out during the ending of the game and they give you ADAM as well which can be used to buy different Plasmids as well as upgrade them. Also you need to collect Eve to use the Plasmids you have in stock.

The puzzles in the game require you to fix pipes in a certain amount of time and if you keep failing you will lose Health and a Turret will come and attack you and I found these Hacking puzzles to be a right pain but there is Hacking Tools you can use sometimes around the area or you can just purchase or buy out the hack but I wouldn't recommend it since it costs quiet a fair amount. The game also doesn't really have any bosses apart from the last boss but my word he was a dissapointment.

Presentation

It is dark and some stuff even falls down or gets shattered making it feel a bit realistic because you can see dents in certain objects if you whack them with the wrench and well Rapture is just one massive and incredible place. It has atmosphere and that really makes the game stand out.

Lastability

I'd say about 10 to 15 hours max but you might want to play it on a harder difficultly setting and get a different ending. It certainly is worth another playthrough.

Overall Opinion

A very atmospheric journey around one of the best areas in videogames. The game has excellent pacing and can be difficult in places to get lost sometimes but overall its just a nice area to look around and one of the most memorable gaming experiences this gen.
