Video Game storytelling at its best. Unique, bleak and exceptional.

When this game first came out I played through it once and I was impressed with it. It was undeniably a good game, an atmospheric setting, good story/voice acting...reasonably enjoyable combat mechanics and some magical touches.

I did rate the game highly then, although despite being very impressed I always perceived that there was something I didn't quite enjoy about it.

Well recently I decided to play through the game one more time, so that I'm up to speed for the forthcoming prequel.

I found it to be an exceptionally enjoyable experience, better than the first time.

I found the complete package this time when I played it, such brilliant story telling, such excellent voiceacting...an amazing atmosphere. The combat wasn't as bad as I remembered it either. It was actually pretty enjoyable.

This game is an experience the likes of which comes along very rarely with games. Something to be treasured by any gamer.

Knowing how the story was going to go the second time around actually made the experience more enjoyable in a way although obviously it took away from the twists.
