Good, but I'm afraid I'm in the minority.

User Rating: 8 | BioShock X360
Upon reading several reviews on Bioshock I was convinced it was the next game to purchase for the 360, hell with the scores it was receiving I though I'd be playing Half Life 3 or Gears of War 2, but alas as great a game as it is it just didn't live up to all the hype in my opinion.

Bioshock is yet another first person shooter that throws you into the fantasy world or Rapture. You are left all alone in this undersea world save for the help of a mysterious man named Atlas who communicates with by way of radio and needs to you help his lost family. As you travel through the city you pick up recording devices that give little snippets of story to give you an idea of what went wrong down there. Also along the way you pick up the standard guns, shotguns, rifles and bazookas among other things. One unique weapon in Bioshock are the use of pasmids (kinda like magic powers) which allow you to electrocute enemies, freeze or incinerate them, use telepathic powers or even engulf them in swarms of bees.

Also as is pretty much standard in these types of games you will obtain money and the games much needed adam to upgrade your weapons and abilites. What sets Bioshock apart from alot of other shooters are it's great graphics and sound as well as it's unique underwater setting, however it also suffers from repetitive environments and enemies. After playing through about two thirds of the game I felt as though the areas were all the same, there is very little variety in the backgrounds or places you visit. The enemies as well are pretty much all the same, there are only a handful of different enemies and they only seem to have a few different methods of attack. Killing big daddies and saving or harvesting little sisters is a nice touch but even that became boring to me after awhile.

By the end of the game, I was satisfied with the experience I have had but with the lack of online play and having already seen and done everything the first time through I have no desire to really play through again. With all these things being said I'm very surprised at the VERY high ratings this game is getting, it's a good game people, but it's not that good. And that's my .02
