A Beautiful Game

User Rating: 8.5 | BioShock X360
In this article, I will concentrate on the things wrong with this game. Other people have pointed out the good things about it, but because I am extremely picky about things (including games), I will do the opposite. From an artistic perspective, Bioshock is a masterpiece. Is it the most beautiful game ever made? No. The world that is rendered is beautiful. The graphics are cutting edge, but because it is so dark in this world, it's difficult to fully appreciate, Is the gameplay perfect? No. Having to contend with wave after wave of enemies becomes exhausting after a while. I wish there was more interaction with npcs. Also, when a bunch of enemies come at you at once (which happens every so often), it can become very confusing because you are most likely to be in cramped conditions and the lighting is usually poor. In such cases, you're lucky to remain alive. But, if you die, there aren't any consequences. I also don't really like the hacking minigame you have to play in order to hack anything. As far as negatives, this is about it for now (I've only played for about four hours). All in all, Bioshock is a lot of fun and a very impressive game. I'm still giving it high grades in spite of my criticisms because... well... because nothing's perfect.
