Irrational Games' head discusses his new steampunk first-person shooter and the back story behind its airborne metropolis.
The game looks great, and i an interested in getting it. However, this does look alot like the fsirt bioshock. Yet it doesnt have any references to that game. How many games can be made about weird out there cities? They made one under water, and now one in the air, whats next a forgotten city on land and will that one combine the story elements of both?
Lol omg Who_Dey85 you have a point. But you'll live.
@Who_Dey85 lol
I thought she was Eleanor
Please tell me they release this game before 2012. Especially if the world ends in 2012. I will be so pissed off if I die before I get to play this game
tbh i won't be surprised if they release it earlier considering how much info they're giving away
im surprised that there giving away this much info 2 years before the release its cool but surprised me and gamespot reporters don't get to greedy or else no more info!!!!!
When I first seen the trailer I thought "how stupid, the writers must of ran out of things to write about". that was when i thought Bioshock was all about rapture, one city underwater forgotten, now that I hear its being set in the 1900's it makes alot more sense and now I respect the idea alot more. For now on when I think of Bioshock I will think of Cities that were revolutionized that have a problem, and how the city becomes seperated and forgotten from the world, and then becomes its own world inside an already existing world with its own rules .Im still so very curious on what the story will be and the gameplay.
Lol dude keeps falling off, another original idea from Levine, love it.
SkyShock :o
I didnt even look at the comments before i thought "steve carell with a beard?" LOL but n e wayz looks cool, but did anyone else notice the snow white getup the girl was wearing?
I have to agree! This is Steve Carell twin surely :)

Steve carell twin.lol
Yes 2012 realese is perfect because i want to enjoy the game and replay it many times just like bioshock 1.
Ken Levine you continue to astound me.
I think this new steampunky style will refresh the series somewhat (As much as I like the underwater setting). @TzUgArT It better end after I finish this. That way I'll die happy.
just another masterpiece of bioshock
This game looks pretty cool. Does anyone know when the live demo comes out? or a link to it. cuz from what i've been reading some people have already seen it.
not bad game
I'm glad they changed the setting. The mystery and awe of Rapture is what made the original Bioshock so great.
i hope they throw in 2 diffrent pre-order DLC to make it look interested
Bioshock was good, it wasn't as good as everyone say it is but it was a cool game to play through. I never played Bioschock2 but this new one looks very F-ed up and I like F-ed up games.
This one is going to be very interesting to play.
Wow. Some really intense development time...they've already been working on this game (according to their podcast) for a year or so...and they're announcing a 2012 release? Impressive. I love how they aren't afraid to move out of the BioShock 1 and 2 framework. Infinite seems more like a spiritual successor, or an alternate universe than a straight-up sequel. Definitely the best thing for the franchise.
Bioshock is one of the best games ever, and it's because it was unique. Bioshock 2 wasn't, that's why I consider it 1.5 or expansion pack. Im glad they're changing from Rapture, and this game's gonna rock. But the question is how hard?
God to re-have Ken Levine, i think is a great storyteller & i believe in him :))
It's funny, everyone knew Rapture was getting old, but I really miss it already :S Glad they come up with something new thoguh
Booker Dewit. Very classy name.
never tired bioshock 1 or 2 but this looks pretty kool may get me into the series
YES
Meh... I forced myself to play Bioshock 1 to the end, got bored of Bioshock 2 about half way through, and even with the new environment this seems like it will feel the same. Probably good for fans of the series, but I'll give it a miss.
as much as I love rapture..i think this is best for the series I love bioshock so much
I was expecting Rapture city. I'm suprised..
this looks awesome
TBA 2012... this thing better be a masterpiece.
This looks Great! Love Bioshock.
So excited. Didn't know how they could make it any better and this looks like it might be the way.
2012 isnt that the year our beloved xbox 360's and ps3 retire ?
WOW cannot wait!! BS1 was awesome as well as 2 was. I do not care what anyone says but BS2 was not a total crap fest, the game was still fun and if BS1 was never realeased you wouldnt be saying that. You would be remarking how incredible 2 actually is, but yes BS1 is superior over 2 but not by much.
Booker DeWitt?! Reeeeeeeallyyyyyyyyyyy!?
what about bioshock 3
Definitely looking forward to this! But I think that since they took an new direction with the art, the game will feel less hostile than the underwater first 2 games
Good interview
2012 is far away, but it looks like this will be a true and expansive sequal, Bioshock 2 with the so-so story, exact same controls, gameplay and even menus at times reminded me of a mid 90's lazy Madden update where nothing really changed except for window dressing.
2012 ! WTF ?!
Wow ... Finally something to look forward to!!! I'm so glad this game is not going to capitalize on rapture and try to staple bits and pieces of story to the original. Can't wait!!!
Thanks, Ricardo, for this exclusive interview!
I like this guy, aswell as this game.
