The second in a series of videos focuses on the factions in Columbia and the conflict that's tearing the floating city apart.
@edgewalker16: :] ill have to check it out I havent been keeping to much tabs on it since I am trying not to tempt myself with new games cause I don't have the money :/ trying to focus more on finding a job. but I love easter eggs and from the sounds of it I hope they hide a good amount in :D
who is the person putting a thumb's down on all the positive comment's ? you bioshock hater! why be on this if you hate it so much? i love everything bioshock, this is gonna be so good it's gonna hurt! CANT WAITTT! : )
@Humorguy_basic Original CnC Nod and GDI that's 2 factions and then Redlert allies and soviets again 2 factions adding the s to the end means it can be atleast 2 even if you don't agree with it that's still how it works
@apnance: Welcome to gamespot, where free speech comes at a price. i bet i will get moderated for this lol
I love the political/societal undertones in the bioshock series. Gives it a very different quality than most games have, especially first person shooters.
@Rejsby look for "suspence" music,on w/e search engine you use. You should find plenty of stuff like it ;)
What's with this Levine guy? Doesn't he know that video games are just mindless sensory stimuli? Kidding. So great to have a developer really dealing with ideas in a way that isn't just shoving an agenda at you, let alone actually daring to just intelligently deal with ideas in a game. Kudos, sir!
Moderator I'm adressing this to you and marking as abusive to get you to answer my question. Why did you delete my comment from yesterday? Does this website not support free speech and dialog? My comment was not lewd, abusive, or even angry. I simply expressed my opinion that the game does not look that great. Please respond to my gamespot account.
Does gamespot delete critical posts? I left a post here yesterday expressing my disagreement with the 100% positive responses and it appears to have been removed.
A question out of the blue here. When you watch this trailer, some hear a violin playing in the background right? (hopefully it's not in my head..) and I'm wondering if there is anyone here or elsewhere who knows music in the same type? Please tell me if you know anything sounding close to that!
gangs of new york, awsome. btw, can you shoot anyone at any time? Seems like you can since everyone is general threat.
Since System Shock 2, Levine's been doing a magnificent work. I hope this game will be as good as it seems to be from the videos. You must watch Ken Levin's keynote at PAX 2008. Amazing life and game philosophy.
Wow, thats all I can say! When he shouted: "He's just a postman", I think was a choice you could take because it was mentioned you would be able to make choice, which may turn a group of people against you.
I tend to relate more to Vox Populi as Im very left-wing when it comes to politics. We're all American and we all need to look after one another, not every man for himself like wild animals.
@Humorguy_basic Then you don't understand the word properly. Click for definition Just because that is what itmeans to you, doesn't mean you are right. If you are getting your definition solely from the context of how it is in video games, then whatever school you went to should be burned down and your parents sterilized so they don't make more ignorant people. No excuse for ignorance when you can just look up a word by typing it into google, wikipedia or whatever. Sorry for being so harsh, but really, there are kids in some third world school house, made from like an old shipping container, who have a better vocabulary than you with the internet on your fingertips, take advantage.
@ Humorguy basic A third faction doesn't seem like it would be really possible in this game since it almost seems like its a right wing faction vs. a left wing faction with the vox populi as the radical faction and the founders as the conservative faction. I don't think another faction could fit into this specific game, but I do agree that many games do have several factions but they have them for a reason and they fit into the story.
@Sirbobislost, sorry, but in any game with "Factions" it has been 3 or more. Like the factions in Oblivion via the Guilds, or the factions in Dawn of War, or the factions in The Witcher 2, or the factions in STALKER and so on. Never have I seen a game being talked about as having "factions" when there were just two.
Each new trailer just makes it that much harder to wait for the 2012 release date. Man, I hope its Q1 2012 and they're not going to wait until Fall or the Christmas season to put this on the shelf.
I am sorry, but "Factions" to me means 3 or more. 2 "Factions" is just us versus them! It would be like a "Factions" trailer for the original Command and Conquer or "Halo"!
This looks to be an amazing game, here's hoping the gameplay will be as strong as its social commentary on modern world politics..
They shouldn't have made BioShock 2. BioShock left no loose ends and any further attempt at adding onto it would undermine it. A sequel should barely be relevant to the plot of the previous episode unless it was previously worked out (Lord of the Rings trilogy, Star Wars trilogy). This is why BioShock Infinite is a great idea. It's plot and characters barely relate to the first and it is in fact a civil war rather than the outcome of a civil war like in the first BioShock. The only bad thing I can say about it at this point is that since it's in broad daylight, it doesn't seem like it will be that scary. Resident Evil 5 certainly wasn't scary and most of it was in broad daylight. That is my only concern though and it could be made redundent when the game is released.
@MN121MN Neither, even if BioShock (1) felt like a horror survival game, IMO (I get scared easily). Even though it says that the genre of BioShock Infinite is Sci-Fi FPS and it fits quite well, it could also be Fantasy "Historic" FPS but do not take too much time into deciding what the genre is, GameSpot has already done that for us, if you cannot see what fits. Do not have a mindset of putting an FPS directly into a Military genre but maybe for story? Maybe Booker used to be in the army and has some combat and firearm training. Do remember that BioShock is more for story and adventure in the first person view.
While I applaud Ken Levine and Irrational Games for not staying stagnant (yes yes we know this has nothing to do with Bioshock) but I hope they know that the reason they have such a strong following is because of Bioshock 1 & 2. I really hope this is going to be great because I may cry if it isn't....
