Brilliant Storyline but Rough Around the Edges
Bioshock Infinite is an immesirve game. A game which draws you in and let your imagination wonder. Its a game where it welcomes you into the world and will keep you there long after you turn off your console / PC. Fellow gamers that are looking for storyline I cant think of a better game currently than Bioshock infinte. All this immersion accompanied by the best in game sound quality I heard in a while will want you to take your time and enjoy the scenery.
Now Bioshock is not without its faults. In my 10 hours gameplay I have encountered one crashes, few bugs such as trophy progress not being calculated ( trophies are fine ) just the progress are sometimes not registered or registered incorrectly.
I cant help thinking that the developers specially the artists. Considering the game had its few delays with the excuse of polishing the game, Bioshock is in no way visually polish at all. The ugly textures are hidden by the vibrant colours. 95% I would say all textures are low res. Walls, Drains, Streets, baloons ( are suppose to be round not pentagon KenLevine ), crates, bottles boxes, Characters, Character Clothing, Plants, Trees, everything you see in game are low res. Apart your own gun and some dynamic ligthing in some levels.
In my gaming experience this is lazy and not because of hardware limitations. To proof that I tried it on my PC and the textures on the objects are still low res.
Not all objects are destructible and shapes of baloons, lamp posts, lights these objects are meant to be round instead I can really see the lazyness of the artists here.
I believe current gaming are not holding back quality but lazy developers are.
Overall if it werent for the excellent storyline and I cant praise the sound highly enough this game would just be a dumb down semi action RPG. The story is the main reason to play this.
Is it worth a buy? Yes. Better than Dishonored? Yes Story wise not game play. Is it better than the first bioshock? NO! But Original Bioshock is included for every PS3 Bioshock infinte. Whether you disagree or agree with my review I respect that. But if you have not yet played the game and have formed your own opinion based on other reviews you may be surpirise once you decide to play Bioshock Infinite.
