Specifically changes in game design last minute (lack of multi player), no E3, Devs leaving studio.

I'm wary about this launch now. I was since there was no demo or any appearance at E3 (my guess is honestly that the game will be pushed back until next fall)The other thing that worries me are all these ploys that are not game related that seem to be money grabs based on the title (such as the board game, or the massive cost collector's edition top tier.)

Who knows. The no multi player thing is kinda weird, since it was always announced until recently. Most of the time, though, when there are this many drop shipper before launch, it's because they don't want to be as affiliated with a bad product. It's clearly not an issue that they are in polish stage, because they are replacing these position right after the people leave.

In my opinion they should have just held off BioShock infinite for next gen consoles (or a Wii U version.) We've had 2 bioshocks on this generation of consoles, would have made a great launch product.

No I think the drop of multiplayer and people jumping ship is related to each other.

In other words, the multiplayer, which was actually never showcased, was not good, and people got fired for it.

Maybe it's also how they missed E3. They wanted to demo multiplayer but the demo either never got ready, or it was so bad that Levine lost faith and fired his people.

DA3 will definitely be like DA2. But more polished, even more casual, and sales will be equally low and Bioware will be like durrrr?! hurrrr?!

So a senior manager, 2 art directors, and a producer all got fired because multiplayer was bad? Not buying it.

Note they also filled these roles with other people (IE epic games Rob Ferguson), and people on their own team (Hiring bioshock 1's Scott SInclaire to fill the art roles.)

If anything, Irrational is going to split after the release of this game, and they are simply ahead of the curve. Most of the time when senior developer's leave, there is soon to be a buyout or at least a change in the employment of a company.

Also note it could just be that they realize once bioshock infinite releases, their jobs won't be available because irrational won't have another game to work on. They may also be going to Microsoft to work on Xbox next games.

But saying directors and art people got fired because of multi play is kinda dumb

Well, if you're going to call people who answer to your question dumb, well it's no wonder no one's actually answering your thread.

I am glad they got rid of MP, bioshock one was amazing, resources were wasted on the sequal BECAUSE they wanted MP.

It's a problem when resources were ALREADY wasted on the multiplayer.

And no, Bioshock 2 did not "waste resources" on multiplayer. An entirely different team was brought on to develop the multiplayer portion. The second team would not have been used to work on the single player otherwise, nor would the salary have been used to hire more artists or programmers. Bioshock 2's problem was that it was developed by a generic second-rate studio who merely copy-pasted the first game for no reason other than to cash in on a brand.
