Bioshock was awesome, and Bioshock 2 is just as good!

User Rating: 9 | BioShock 2 PS3
Being a massive fan of the original, especially with such a strong story for a FPS. Bioshock 2 is going to have to work hard to make it better than the first, but after playing the multiplayer for sometime and getting heavily into the single player campaign, I have come to realize that people behind bioshock 2 have done an awesome job making this game just as good as the first. So, lets plunge under the water and get this review going!

Graphics:
When you reach the part in the game, where the big sister breaks down the window and gallons of ocean water traps you, you come to realize just how damn real it looks and how awesome it feels to be under water. The environments are amazing and lush in a claustrophobia way. The walls are marked with graffiti and biblical sayings (I believe), and the oil spills and puddles of water everywhere really show the deconstruction of the ones and prosperous rapture city. If the environments enticed you, than look at the character designs. I love the aspect of the designers making each splicer different looking with clothing, masks, and colour. I think each enemy you face has different characteristics than those of other ones. Epic in my words, especially the big sisters.

Game Play:
Playing the first bioshock you helped me in the aspect of the controller, so it was like putting on a glove. The controls are not confusing, especially when you get into the aspect of other weapons and plasmids. you can easily hold R1 and choose which one you want. The single player campaign can last up to 8 to 2o hours, depending on how well you look throughout the game. I am very strict when searching an area, so it takes me sometime to get through it. As for the multi-player, there are tones of options to get you playing this game for a while. You can do the basic deathmatch, team death match, capture the little sisters, collect the adam etc... each mode is a blast to play. Also, you can create your own character for online, which the selections are limited, but at least its there.

Sound:
This game has an awesome sound to it, especially with the voices of the splicers, randomly talking to oneself, or to others. Also, learning what is going on in this game involves tape records, which really create a good atmosphere. Each gun has it's own sound and power sound to it as well. Also, the bees buzzing on your arm as you are waiting for an enemy splicer to come into view, so you can send them in their face, and hear them stinging is awesome, especially the cries of pain that go with it.

Overall:
This game is a blast and the story is extremely compelling and emotion, which is surprising because you are a big daddy, ones you come to hate in the first, but now you are trying to rebond with your very own little sister who was taken from you at the beginning, but I wont get into details because you should get out there and buy this game, especially with the price only being 35$, So go enjoy another plunge into rapture!
