Bioshock 2 review no story spoilers
You play as a Big Daddy and the first thing you notice is how weak you are an average splicer can deal great damage to you (leading to plenty of cheap deaths).There is an unbalance in the combat fighting an handful of splicer's can be harder than fighting big daddy & brute splicer (a new buff splicer) and splicer's at the same time.
All the enemies from the first game are back all stronger an evil looking but if you played the first game then they have lost all their mysteries and you know what they can do. New characters are the Big Sisters who will hunt you down after you have harvest or saved a little sister e.g. killed them or let then climb into a duct in the wall. The first Big Sister battle is quite an challenging fight but after that I found them not really challenging if you use the environment around you (they are faster than an big daddy and use telekinesis).Another is an brute splicer who has taken too much adam he looks like an bodybuilder he can be an challenge during certain environments.
There is problems with this game first of all sometimes the music is poorly used they had an psycho (movie) type music playing while fighting an little sister but once she was defeated this music kept playing (it lasted about half an hour) as I walked through corridors it got so annoying I turned the music down (which is an shame) I'm not sure if this was an bug or the developers are trying to make this action game an horror one if so they failed this game is just not scary (including the first/maybe younger gamers may disagree)Also getting the character stuck on object that should not stop you, and audio tape that don't play or they get stuck on the screen.
Overall this game was never going to be as good as the first but it is an good solid action game well worth your money either though there are issues (bugs).And playing as an big daddy was awesome.
