Innovative still, but repeats much of the first.

User Rating: 8.5 | BioShock 2 PC
As I did enjoy Bioshock 2 to a great degree, the only major flaw I found was that the pure source of innovation is derived from its previous installment. Bioshock 2 has a beautifully crafted storyline with an underlying theme that seems to have been surreptitiously added in. The game itself has a meaning that was implied through much subtext throughout the story, and it deals with the competing views of government. The views expressed show the many ways our world leaders today try to superimpose utopia unto their subjects, and that in the reality of it all, utopia can never be reached. The theme overall influences your "little sister's" views in the end, which is another slight pro in the game: repercussion undermining your actions. Whatever you do in the game: who you spare, who you kill, decide's your little sister's worldview. Although this only shows up a few times in game, it makes up for making the massive decision in the end...

The controls are smooth and natural for an FPS; no bumps or curves or sloppy or confusing movements, it should attach to you naturally, that is if you are a gamer. One explicit detail I found in the gameplay although was the concept of stray items. There were times where the level you were on granted you a surplus of resources and you were forced to look over those items only to later find yourself empty of ammo and health, envying your past self for having access to this large amount of stuff.

For the raw shooting, I would say it is very weighted on whichever difficulty you choose; there is a large difference between Easy and Medium, Medium and Hard, et cetera. Believe me, there was nothing scarier than the scream of a big sister out to kill you. Although I played the full game on Hard, these things HOARDED health, and only with a well-timed strategy could you kill these without wasting all of your EVE, health, and ammo. Most things seemed to have more health than necessary, but were far easier to handle than Big Daddies or Big Sisters.

In the long run there are pros:
-Smooth controls
-Dark, scary setting
-Vivid story
-Important theme

And the cons...
-OCD-inducing item incorporation
-High-health enemies
-Reused gameplay
