If they think DLC is the future of gaming, Then the customers need to show them the future of there pay check. Don't buy DLC , I never have and never will. I will on the other hand buy and expansion pack on disc only. Now when they release a game and the following week release DLC with all the side missions thats not on the game (i.e. mafia 2) then there is something wrong. Thats why you can already buy mafia 2 at your local pawn shop for 20 bucks.

Ugh.. I hate the jerk off that says "It's easier on the developer not to have to worry about pumping out a lot of content on release." People like him are the reason some games come out so half arsed Or in the case of Dragon Age.... Things that shoulda come with the game to begin with. Hell even the fable DLC was like.. 10+ dollars a pop and they're hardly worth the cost to the gamer. I could go to a store right now and buy an old game for that price and get a whole lot more bang for my buck than throwing it away on bad DLC. I mean.. If they want to milk the game for money... Just make an expansion pack... A good one. If the game is good to begin with people are going to want to buy the expansion. With DLC it's... just a gamble. Are you going to get anything worth your money? And some times.. Games like Call of Duty and Halo... Will release maps... in DLC packs... What the hell man? But they do have the excuse of players not really being able to make content for consoles. Lame excuse regardless but yeah. /endraeg

Like the guy from Codemasters stated, I'd much rather see DLC as expansion packs instead of new skins, weapon packs, etc.

Oh forgot to mention that alot of games have DLC ready to be unlocked already on it so companies can try to make more money and say they just didnt have time to finish it. This is why I never pay for DLC if everyone stops and sells go down they will stop treating us like retards.

I miss the old days when all DLC was free and it wasn't called DLC. They were just patches for pc games that added maps, missions, levels, guns, or whatever. Every since consoles figured out they could get involved like the xbox they found out people would pay for these things. Xbox users were forced to pay because they were not allow to sell it on xbox live store for free so now all platforms DLC cost money.

DLC as a game expansion is a good idea, but when devs hold back content that they could have easily put in the main game, and then sell it as DLC, that's just money-grabbing pure and simple (Yes Fable 2, I'm looking in your direction), especially when the quality of the DLC is average at best.

Bottom line, if devs want to release a game on a certain date and end up not having enough time to include everything that was planned they should either move the release date or provide a free DLC.

In some ways being able to connect to the internet and download stuff to your console is a bad thing - I think it makes some devs lazy and provides more opportunity for plain money-grabbing. Think about it, in the last generation the game that was released was all you got, so devs had to make sure that they put everything in upfront.

But like the guy said, no one is forcing us to buy DLC.

DLC can be good or bad as long as the price fit the content just like Dawn_oF_Doom said Hell free if even better

they just have to stop charging you for little crap like a few more maps for 10$ that sucks 5$ for 3 maps im good with. or 10$ for a big add on like oblivion shivering isles that was wroth the price

and they need to release some free stuff not all i know that they want to make money. but people will really like free GOOD stuff then maybe they will want to pay for something else from them.

    To the Developers & Publishers,

If DLC is priced more than $5, it has to be significant in terms of length of content (Bioshock 2 DLC). Also main game should be priced around $40.

If DLC is mere add-on types (example: new engine add-on in Railworks or costume/skin in many games), then make it FREE! Original game might be priced around $50.

DLC sounds great in theory....the problem is, in its current state, its usually too short to warrant the money or too frivolous to even warrant downloading it (let alone paying for it). if DLC maintained its $7-10 price range, and was 4-5 hours long instead of 1-2 hours long, id probably buy a lot more DLC. then of course theres the question of quality, which im not even gonna go into to.

DLC is a scam. Lets charge people extra money to play the same game. Free DLC would be acceptable.

free DLC is great and paid DLC can also be good as long as the publishers don't rip you off. MW2 had 2 map packs which are like 25 bucks when you buy them together that's just sick. People who were willing to buy MW2 should've been awarded but instead they get smacked in the face.

    DLC = Make More Money...
When the DLC comes out, they are producing a new title... The DLC for me, is supposed to be in original game, its a content that could have been provided in the original game, but of course, its part of the plan an just make more money... I really dont like that.

kamuifei. DLC = Downloadable content. You download it to your console/PC or w.e. Like downloadable content on the PC, great example is BFBC2 we had to download those map packs and download everything. Almost no DLC is on the initial disc. Almost ALL have to be downloaded.
