An old-school throwback that reminds why we don't need a stinkin' jump button!

I loved the original Bionic Commando for NES. I rented it for the first time from my local supermarket and was blown away by the gymnastics you could pull off with that bionic arm. Nearly 20 years later and I'm still amazed by how much more fun a game is when you swing and climb instead of jump!

From the opening screen, which plays the original theme, to the first level which features a remix of the original music, this game just screams "NOSTALGIA!" There's a couple new moves with the arm, most notably picking up and throwing barrels, but for the most part, nothing has changed.

The graphics, unlike the controls, have changed and are superbly animated, especially for an Arcade title. At some points, it may seem a little too "zoomed out" but I love the way everything moves. It's done very crisp and clean.

Lastly, the actual gameplay which mostly centers around how good you are at moving around with the bionic arm, is absolutely brutal. You will die. A lot. But you'll have fun doing! For 800 points, this game is worth it's price.
