An okay racing game based on a great series.

Biker Mice was the most awesome show ever when I was growing up, I watched the series, had the toys and I even played this video game. It's a racing game from an over-head view, kind of like Micro Machines or Micro Maniacs. You can play as either Throttle, Vinnie, Modo, Karbunkle, Limburger or Greasepit. Each one have vehicles with very different attributes. Some are faster, some are better at turning and some have devestating weapons. All vehicles can be upgraded at the Last Chance garage. There are 30 stages, sounds like a lot, but there are only 5 themes, city, beach, sewer, desert and space stations, and they are reused with variations, no particular stage really stands out as all that memorable, but the game is fun, or it can be, you see, the biggest problem with the game is the difficulty, there is no perfect option, easy and normal are cakewalks, and hard is too cheap and sometimes frustrating, but it's the only way to see the last five levels. The music is pretty good and the beach level has an excellent track, hey, it's Konami. I played the European version, which means there will barely be a moment where you won't see a Snickers logo, that's right, the product placement...or, actually, it's so blatant they should just call it "Snickers, The Game". Not only are the winning quotes now replaced with a Snickers ad featuring the character winning and the logo being slapped all over the tracks, you can get a Snickers bar during the race, as a power up, speaking of which, the game is not like Mario Kart and sometimes gives you useless items when you're in last place. Biker Mice From Mars is an excellent show, the original 90's one, NOT the most recent one, this game is okay for Biker Mice fans.
