When you first look at Beyond Good and Evil you'll probably think "It looks weird", well you would be correct, Beyond Good and Evil is a "weird" game, but in a good way, and it definitely proves to be an enjoyably weird experience.
In Beyond Good and Evil you play as Jade, a teen-aged girl who lives in a lighthouse along with her humanoid pig uncle, and many children whose parents have been killed (by the Domz). They live on the planet of Hillys, which is currently at war with an alien race known as the Domz. Close to the start of the game, you come upon a small underground network known as IRIS, who are bent on uncovering the truth of the war. Naturally you join the group and their cause, and spend the rest of the game trying to alert the people of Hillys of the truth.
The gameplay in Beyond Good and Evil, is basically a mixture of several different things, you'll see stealth, action, puzzle, free-roam, and some vehicle stuff, but what you'll be doing through most of the game is completing missions that are given to you by IRIS. On these missions you are always looking for evidence to uncover the truth of what's going on, so your goal should be to get in, take pictures of the evidence you need, and get out. How you decide to go about these missions is mainly up to you, most of the time it's especially wise to sneak past any guards, instead of fighting straight through, though the latter is a viable option at times.
The graphics for Beyond Good and Evil, look sort-of cartoonish, but they definitely fit with the setting of the game, aswell as the characters that you'll see throughout it. The voiceovers fit the characters exceptionally well, they're isn't one character that I can say sounded bad, and that's definitely a strong point of the game. The soundtrack is right at par with a good game, and it generally fits the environments and atmosphere of the game quite well.
Overall, Beyond Good and Evil is a really great, though seemingly short, action/adventure game, and is easily recommended to anyone looking for a unique and innovative game.
