At the main menu, choose the first option (top left) and select any league. Then, on the next screen, select the second team's name. At the next screen, press Up and A to edit the team's name. At the edit screen, press Down 2 times and Right 4 times and select that Japanese character. Then press Down 2 times and select the Japanese character. Finally press Right 4 times and Down 1 times and select Japanese character. Return to the main menu by pressing B, and this time choose the top middle option. On this screen, press Down 12 times to move the blue bar to the near bottom. Now press the B button to go to the main menu again and press Select. If done right, the debug menu should appear.
