Special Achievement

Best Use of Control Scheme

Now more than ever, game hardware is accommodating unusual uses of controls. Controllers aren't just simple dual-stick setups with shoulder buttons. These days, they're wireless, and they work with new console hardware and with smart new game design that reinterprets how players can enter commands into a game. This award category recognizes the games that took a unique approach to their control schemes that not only was clever, but also worked well and added to the overall game experience.

Big Bang mini for me, just like Ninja Gaiden was last year, but I can see why Tiger Woods PGA won

Flower has the most intuitive control scheme I've ever come across, and I've been playing games since the Atari 2600. It's also my second favorite game of all time. It's really a shame that Flower has been nominated for so many categories, and yet is shut out each and every time.

I think Gamespot is trying to avoid fan outrage along the lines of last year's E3, when Gamespot gave Flower Best Graphics. 2009 as a whole was fairly lacking, but there are two games released this year that will stand the test of time...Flower and Demon's Souls, which, not coincidentally, are both in my personal top ten of all time, if not top five.

I'm really impressed on how accurately the controls play out. It isn't perfect, but surely it hits more than it misses.

Flower should have won... very unique game, don't punish innovation and developers pushing games into artistic mediums... reward them so all games are forced to improve...

With that said, Tiger Woods does display excellent control in the bedroom lol...
