Best Sound Design

While music often plays a crucial role in enhancing the experience of playing a game, sound design often adds a great deal as well. Games with the best sound design offer excellent and memorable audio effects that are not only impressive on their artistic and/or technical merits, but also contribute directly to the gameplay. Realistic-sounding weapon reports, clever use of dynamic audio, and smart audible cues that lead you through the game are just a few examples of excellent sound design that can make a good game great.

at least Dead Space extraction is nominated, I did voted for Killzone 2, but the Sound design is so much connected to atmosphere that it was hard to choose the winner. Dead Space did a terrific job last year

Apparently, the "less-is-more" aesthetic doesn't count in sound design, as Demon's Souls was not even nominated.

well deserved , KZ2 has the best sound in a war game , you feel like you are really in the battle field if you play this game with a decent 5.1 speakers.

Agreed! The pinging of bullets off metal, the boom of a sniper rifle, the bang of a shotgun, and the yells of enemies as you took them down; everything sounded perfetc in this game.
