Special Achievement

Best Licensed Music

Taking someone else's songs and successfully incorporating them into your video game is no easy feat. Many games use licensed soundtracks to complement the gameplay, but it takes a special game to integrate preexisting music in a way that enhances and enriches the experience. Similarly, there is a lot of great music that finds its way into the many rhythm games on the market, but only a few games manage to gather a tracklist that sets them apart from the rest. Whether it's a great setlist or a rockin' soundtrack, these games made the best use of licensed music in 2009.

The second sentence of this synopsis nailed it.

(I've heard more musical sounds coming from a construction site as opposed to some of the noise merchants in Brutal Legend)

Brutal Legend should win this award because it has an amazing sountrack with names such as Black Sabbath, Manowar, Motley Crue, Ozzy..... The most kickass soundtrack ever!!!!! LET'S ROCK!!!!!

This is a no brainier. Harmonix did a great job on the game. The Beatles is THE best rock band ever.

Makes sense that the game for the greatest band in history won.

Wow, what a bunch of whiny kids you're, all of you. Metallica are t*ats, their last albums are freaking horrible and Metal can't be taken seriously anymore. You're campioning a generic band against the greatest band ever, and that speaks volumes about how much you guys don't know about either music or videogames (how can you compare all the attention to detail poured into Beatles: RockBand agains "Another GH with reused stuff" that is EVERY GH game?)

Should've been brutal legend. The metal songs in that are tight and they were fit perfectly into the game.

@rEvilKoala Well for one, Rock Band has a sh!tload of songs to download. Releasing new DLC every week? Epic.

It's obvious that Brutal Legend should have won. Rock Bands selection is rather poor if you ask me.

It all depends what kinda music u like. I prefer metallica but thats just my opinion. I know theres others my will die for metallica but then u also have alot of people who just hate it and dont understand how people can listen to it.
