Platform Awards

2009 has seen multiple game releases on multiple platforms, so there has been no shortage of great games for everyone to enjoy regardless of which platform they own. GameSpot's platform awards honor those games that stand out on the platform regardless of their exclusivity to that platform. Provided it's identical across platforms, a great game is a great game. Still, the few console-exclusives we had this year made for some interesting debates when met with competition from excellent multiplatform games.

Hey! Where's phantasy star zero in the DS list? come on that game's way better than shin megami at least. PS0 is like the DS's monster hunter and yes it has online too, it's like the best DS online RPG out there.

WAIT A MINUTE. Wait a minute. Punch-Out isn't on the Best Wii Game list? Nor Muramasa?

It's bad enough that they picked out Beatles Rock Band and PGA Tour 10 over those 2 (no offense to anyone who like them), but they're pretty much repeating games from the other categories. Aren't Best PC Games and etc suppose to have EXCLUSIVES and not multi-platform?

@ jman329 because PS3 has exclusives to fill up that spot... I don't know if DA should be on there... I honestly think that inFamous should've replaced that spot... but eh...

    @ AmitAmar

I can tell you why. The multiplayer. No dedicated servers, 9v9 or 6v6 only. Its just a port of the 360 title

the nomination system SUCKS!!!!... Gamespot... how do you suppose to enter one game in all three systems, this makes no sense. One game must be nominated for the systems in which it performs the best, at the max two. Coz this reduces the chances of many other games to stand in the queue.
