1 Like Gamespot needs to get out of the house! This isn't a racing game?! Next time I have to take a 12 hour trip from Iowa to Kentucky mountains I'm e-mailing gamespot to come drive me since they love "driving" and going through "little towns..."
Worst year I can remember for semi-sims, with only ONE noteworthy release. I hope for more next year, but I don't have high hopes for Grid 2.
F1 2012 had no chance due to it's bugs, other issues and all around just how uncontrolable it is. Dirt Showdown was good, but not as good as Dirt 3 and as a sequel, really took away from Dirt 3's experience. Sonic all-stars racing whatever didn't deserve to win, because its fucking sonic, stick to platformers and RPG's....gosh....and NFS:Most Wanted was OK but puts a lot of shame to the original, because the game is just mainly really crap. Forza HoriXZon FTW!!!! One of the best racing games i have ever played.
1 Like @jollyjoel23 Sounds like you haven't played Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed. It's actually very very good. I don't disagree with you when you say it shouldn't have won (it didn't so that's cool), but don't knock it just cause it's Sonic. I'm by no means a Sonic fan, but I'm having a really great time with the game. It's sure better than some of the recent MK games.
1 Like The gave it to forza just for its nam. Honestly sonic racing is way better. Especially since forza lost direction.
Yay horizen! Just beat this game and it was the best experience I found for racing titles this year. Haven't really found an immersive game like this since burnout paradise and the original nfs most wanted.

@Llama345 @Mc_Trickz Yeah but the basic point still stands, I always say "I'm an xbox fanboy" when people ask where I'm from. I heard Sony USA was even thinking of changing its name to Sony Xbox Fanboys. Kinda catchy if you ask me.
@punkpunker F1 2012 ??? Did you play that awful game full of bugs ??? Other developers should use the F1 license but not Bugmasters.

1 Like Imho a X360 exclusive shouldn't be a genre Best-Of as it is not even accessible for many other --PS3, PC, Wii-- racing gamers (e.g., NFS MW is open to all platforms, including iOS/Android).

I'm playing the PC F1 2012, maximum graphics, rock-solid 60fps, DFGT wheel. I feel like Codies finally hit the spot this time. At least based on F1 2010 that I played before it. Currently having loads of fun with F1 2012.

2 Like Get 8 freinds in a 'Party', pick a car from a particular class and tear arse it around the rather large world trying beat each others Speed Trap times while racing each other and trying to beat each others times and other such challenges is simply brilliant fun.
The fact that Horizon won this award is simply a no brainer, as it really is a brilliant game.
Sonic should've won this with some distance, but perhaps kart racing games aren't cool enough these days.
@Elnath10 No, the reason is because the Xbox exclusives (though there are less) offer up more than the PS3 exclusives. Besides just think, no PS3 games that came out this year were really worth any nomination, for example, twisted metal was ok and ratchet and clank was nothing special what so ever. And if you are viewing by PC standards hen you are completely wrong. Just look at most of the categories as they have tons of PC exclusives.
@Taffy872 It is not only this year, I have seen GS editors choices from several years now I have built that perception through the years. I agree this 2k12 was a sucky year for PS3 exclusives, and I don't play in PC's. So you can't accuse for anything wrong there. So..yeah, I believe they are a little bit xboxers... I mean Halo better than others nominated?? OMG!. And that category is not the only one I have believe that... but it is just my opinion, well and as I can see... @pelvist too
@Elnath10 @Taffy872 @pelvist Less Xbox 360 exclusives but Microsoft actually gives these games more budget so they can improve in alot of things. So with the bigger budget they made games with a higher quality while NFS:MW was slightly tweaked from the old one and in general Need for Speed games dont get high ratings :P
3 Like This was a no brainer really. People hating on it because they don't own an XBox 360 and have never played it. Forza Horizon was this one easily. I think Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed came in 2nd.
Mx vs atv alive even though it wasnt supported very long the actual gameplay and how much u had to work the right analog stick to go fast
