I actually felt sorry for him when I forced him to cut his finger off. Seriously though I've never been so emotionally attached to a game.

About the Awards
GameSpot's Best of 2010 awards cover special achievements in the field of advancements for games, dubious honors for less-than-admirable qualities, and full awards for individual genres and every major platform. Nominations and awards are the result of rigorous debate among GameSpot's editors, who select up to five finalists and one winner for almost every category (the Game of the Year category includes up to 10 finalists). To qualify for an editorial award, games must have been reviewed by GameSpot between January 1, 2010, and November 30, 2010.
Award categories are intended to call out those games that truly deserve the attention--therefore, while each award is meaningful, it's considered an honor simply to be nominated.
Most Memorable Moment
It's not often that a single, solitary scene in a game stands out as a defining moment. Games are full of memorable moments, but some are just too unique, too surprising, too frightening, and too incredible to forget. This award recognizes the most memorable moments of 2010. Spoiler warning: Because this category skips ahead to memorable moments in games, it contains major spoilers. Proceed with caution.

Yet another spoiler warning! The lizard trial, which requires you to mutilate yourself on camera for the murderer who kidnapped your son, is the single most memorable and disturbing moment we've seen in a game this year.

So deserved it!! I never used the saw I didnt think it was that grusome... if thats how you spell it... I was in so much shock!!
that was a great moment in gaming. I truly felt in touch with the character that I was playing and it was very difficult to force myself to cut off his finger.
YES !! Totally deserves it .. specially doing it with the saw  I mean , after all the screaming , then you discover the finger's not totally cut and you have to do it again on the floor
Oh, Heavy Rain definitely. The rest of the nominees were good, but this one is the most unforgettable and disturbing.
I agree about this categories winner. I was almost shaking as I tried to calm Ethan down in order to cut off him finger!
