Game of the Year

The Game of the Year is the final award, the final category, and the final reckoning for the absolute best of the best of 2009. Like in previous years, this category has an expanded list of finalists. GameSpot has nominated not five, but 10 of the best games on all platforms for the year's top 10 list, and considering the year's abundance of amazing games, simply making the cut as a finalist should absolutely be considered an honor in itself. Here are the top 10 games of the year. But remember...there can be only one.

    Dragon Age: Origins should have win this! But no, it's the damned Uncharted 2 that won the GotY.

    I expected Uncharted 2 to win but Demon's Souls is well deserving of the title

    Yes there's a way to get around you die it's called "Quit Game" before it autosaves than reload the game. No souls lost ~:#

    all the games were good............. it was a difficult pick but i think forza motosport 3 should have won since i own a x360 and forza and it is the most amazing racing game i have played after test drive unlimited

    So many people think Demon Souls would have been even better if it were on the PC. I am one of them. Epic game.

    A game with some of the best controls and the best gameplay out of everything I've played. A rare and heavily underrated gem. In fact, if weren't for Gamespots review here I would of never gotten it, and never even have known it existed.

    Its weird that DS won game of the year and yet it wasn't even nominee for best original IP which btw was won by Infamous

    I play both Xbox 360 & PS3. Playing Demon's Souls, Killzone 2 & Uncharted 2 is the most fun I've had in years of gaming. Congratulations to Sony for really upping the ante this year, and delivering three of the best games available for all platforms.

    i prefer Uncharted 2. but this one is great as well. but still i prefer uncharted.
