Solid Gameplay, amazing cut scenes

User Rating: 8.5 | Berserk: Millennium Falcon Hen Seima Senki no Shou PS2
Berserk is now reaching its 20th birth day this year has been an extremely overlooked and under appreciated Series, Telling the epic tragedy of the mercenary Gatsu, set in the mid-evil era, as he encounters and joins the Legendary Band of the Hawk and befriends its leader Griffith. (*mumble* *mumble*) egg of the king (*mumble* *mumble*) God hand. The Game takes place after the infamous Cliff-hanger of the anime and continues on through to the almost recent Manga.

Sammy and the original creators of the Dreamcast's "Sword of the Berserk :Guts' Rage" worked on this game and built on top of what was broken in the first installment. I for one was really happy they made it alot easier to fight... In the Original Game Gatsu's 6 foot beast of a sword the dragon slayer was difficult to swing around, it collided into buildings and cancelled the swing being performed which meant that you had to sit and either block or run until you find a open area big enough to kill them. but back to the Game.

The Good:
Berserk: Millenium Falcon for the PS2 is well animated, textured and packed full of the gore filled action the manga is reknown for. This game is
worth playing just for the cutscenes (including the Boss fights) (even though you may not understand them) they are fun to watch and interesting but it would be best to read into the manga to understand the gist of the story line during the game.

The game is well dubbed and has great gameplay to match. its simple and very close to the manga, the sword animations are smooth and look great. This game also holds the strange title of being one of the first games that blood sticks onto the character model.

Along side from the dragon slayer you also have a small arsenal of ranged weapons which include the classic wrist crossbrow, throwing knives, Miniature bombs, and the all powerful arm cannon which can literally rip a group of 10 apart. You can also use your allies to assist you with your fights, spells, healing etc.

Thoughout the game and collected from the monsters you kill you gain XP for the amount of chain kills you due at a time I still have yet to fully understand what this does, i think it might have somthing to due with unlocking items in the Treasure box on the main menu for special features but I'm not sure.

The Bad:
you may find yourself having to backtrack across very large areas to get to a certain zone and kill something and with Gatsu's run, it make take a while.
Fighting through the same hordes of Monsters may get frustrating and time consuming if you are caught in a Strange place.
And yes... This game like all other Hack'n'slashes gets reptitive over time.
