I played this game when they made it freeware. That was four years ago(I was 13 then), and quite frankly, I have such awful memory that I have forgotten a good portion of the game. I do, however, get fuzzy nostalgic feelings when thinking about the game, and I remember the somewhat moody yet darkly humorous atmosphere of the game. I also remember the ending being a little...creepy? Or was it just shocking? Oh, and one more very important thing: the puzzles actually made sense. I love a lot of Lucas Arts adventures, but you gotta admit, a lot of the puzzles are often non-sensical in those games. So why am I writing a review for this game now? Because my mind stumbled upon it. And I just realised what a tragedy it is that most gamers my age have never played an adventure game. Almost everyone has played RPG, FPS, RTS, platformer, fighter, etc.. But adventure? It's really a shame. There was something really special about that genre. And this game, from my memory, is right up there with Monkey Island and what not. And now that it is free, kids have no reason not to play it. P.S.: I will probably get around to playing the game again, as perhaps my nostalgia clouds my actual thoughts? Because many reviewers feel this game is overrated. Also, the DS is an ideal system for adventure games. I believe there have already been homebrew efforts, but official releases would be ideal, and a perfect way to remind people about this forgotten genre.

Beneath a Steel Sky would have been a wonderful dystopian tale if not for flaws in its execution.

Reminiscent of "Blade Runner", "Beneath a Steel Sky" is a classic point-and-click adventure game.

Adventure fan should rate it a 9 or a 10 but it has some problems that bare it from being mainstream success

One of the last old-school adventure games of that era.
