Unoriginal, and with it's flaws but Bejewled still provides entertainment.

The first thing that strikes me about Bejeweled is the fact that it's very much like other games i've played and doesn't offer too much else, except the fact I can play it competively in my MSN window while chatting, which really is the only time I'd use it.

The game is entertaining admittedly, with a longer playing time for a game making it appear better but the game ultimately offers no challenge- you're still moving blocks whether it be until you run out of tiles, or in the time trial mode. It seems quite random how well you'll do- a well planned game can go the way of 600 points, or 60,000.

Apart from it's basicness, the other real let down is the sounds. The gem moving sounds are fine, but the nearing of game over in the time trial mode is a monontonus mone, which really grates with no way of stopping. The bonus music is also tetchy to deal with.

So Bejewled. Entertaining, yes. Nothing more than that however.
