Halo 2 good overall, lacking in small aspects and storyline.

Halo 2 incorporates the same great aspects of the original Halo into the new game: great graphics which seem to have improved massively from the already stunning look, a soundtrack that is one of a kind and can instantly be recognized as Halo, and a style of gameplay that isn't all action but is never boring. I have to say that my hands must have been trembling when I first got the game and my friend Mike and I started to play co-op. I went back later to play solo and realized that the graphics are stunning; the lighting is amazing and the Covenant ,as well as Delta Halo, have spectacular graphics that I still haven't seen in any other X-Box game. I went through the familiar motions in the first level and Mike and I were off. The new weapons were a great addition; I couldn't believe how great it was getting; playing as the Arbiter was a new spin on the storyline. However, when the things on Delta Halo were just starting to get good, I recognized that familiar sound, fog, and characteristic smear on the wall that brings back bad memories of Halo; the Flood. I couldn't believe that the Flood were back, I though I had killed them all for good. But nonetheless, the Flood are still there. I don't particularly like fighting the flood, because they are hard to kill and you can only use a few weapons on them. I also noticed that the little brain-like creatures can regenerate a dead Flood creature, which is something I didn't notice in Halo. Basically, my personal experiences with the zombie-like creatures lead me to think that the Flood in Halo 2 was a definite negative. But alas, there was still a great game to be played. After the great banshee escort while playing as the Arbiter, I got to complete what I thought was the climax of the game. Then, as games would traditionally go, the denouement would be at hand; however, the denouement was nowhere to be found, the game just ended. That was the big chunk that I took out of the gameplay score - the game simply ended after a kick-ass scene with the Master Chief. The end obviously leaves room for Halo 3, but I still think it was too much of a cliff-hanger. However, no matter what you pay for this game, it is worth it; the multiplayer is awesome. System Link over XBC or some other server provides hundreds of hours of fun; and I haven't even finished exploring all the possibilities. Overall, great game.
