A potentially loveable game about beer. However it lacks in many areas and is a disapointment.
However the little excitement that I had built up was spoilt by the lack of enthusiasum and effort put in to the features of this game. Even though usually over looked a little story line to start the game is always a bonus for me because it gets you in the mood. When you start Beer Tycoon however you are dropped onto a plot of land at which point you are expected to buy all the buildings (except perhaps the pub and visitor center) hire staff for each machine you have bought and placed without any help except a few vauge messages in your inbox.
Once you have set up your brewery you can get to the best part of the game, which is making your own beer! I must admit that i didn't have a clue what half the ingriedence were and it confused me, but just a learning curve. Naming the beer is the best bit! Once you've done this your workers start production, which takes them a long time for some reason. And they seem to wonder around your lot and away from their tasks which slows things down a bit more. After this long process of waiting your beer is of to the world.
On my first attempt though my workers were so slow that i became bankrupt before i could despatch the first batch of "Smokey Joe's".
Overall;
A game tycoon and beer enthusiasts with alot of patience maybe able to enjoy. Not one that would leave a good impression on a first time tycoon gamer. Go old school i say and find your copy of Theme Park!
