it's a pity beats are so important. i was hoping to blast the alien hordes while listening to sunn, goslings, or yellow swans. :D
Its just my opinion but something that looks like this just screams trance to me. Anything will do of course though.

Looks good, I'll check this one out.
Sound effects are terribly underwhelming - perhaps this is an intended design decision so as to not drown out the background music, which appears to be one of the main themes of this game.
