User Rating: 6.5 | Beany Bopper 2600
Few words described Beany Bopper. Then again, I hope very few of you spent time playing it.

If you played Asteroids, you played Beany Bopper. I think this game was much more suited for Bluto from Animal House than it was for the average household wanting that "arcade-experience" at home.

The basics of the game were a top scrolling, shooter. You incorporated an apple looking character, the Bopper, and were forced to shoot the incoming "beanies". For those who don't know, a "beanie" is one of those dork hats with the propeller on top.

So, you scroll up and shoot. Then you and can scroll down, and again, shoot. All the while the small atmosphere is scrolling as well. The one selling point of this game is the controlling movement. The vector graphics responded well to the 2600 controller and thus you were allowed to move quickly and freely about the screen.

That is, until you put your controller down in sheer boredom
