If you're a fan of beat-em-ups packed with bosses/sub-bosses, unique mobs, and action sequences Bayonetta is a must have

User Rating: 10 | Bayonetta PS3
Let me start by saying that this is the perfect game for devil may cry lovers!

Now I know that many reviewers have lower scores for the PS3 version for loading times and frame rate issues, but I'm here to tell you guys that regardless of those issues, this game is top notch!

Bayonetta has an interesting soundtrack. It is very japanese/pop but it fit the atmosphere of the game. Something that you will realize right away is that bayonetta is cheesy and over-the-top, but that's what the developer's intended. From weapons that attach to bayonetta's feet, to the spinning wheel enemies, to the different torture attacks, bayonetta is truly a unique and outrageous game.

The normal enemies that pack the levels can get kind of difficult. For the first few chapters you basically fight the same 3 mobs. The multiple boss fights vary up the combat. Just when you start to get tired of seeing those normal enemies, new ones are introduced. I really enjoyed combat variation with every enemy. The only enemy I disliked fighting were the fire wheels as they were always a pain to kill! It was hard to develop a strategy where I wouldn't lose any health. The ice and fire enemies are pretty difficult to kill, but it's always guaranteed to be an intense battle. The bosses are very unique. There's a giant baby-face monster, outrageously big sea creatures, and even difficult opponents that are of bayonetta's size.

The sexual theme and atmosphere add to the humorous cheesiness that is found throughout the entire game. Often times I found myself laughing out loud at many of the character's one-liners and dialogue.

Graphically the game looks awesome. Even though the PS3 version is inferior, the art style and graphic quality is still impressive. I did not experience much screen tearing, if any at all. Many people/reviewers have claimed to have experienced these issues which isn't too far fetched but I think they are just blown out of proportion. On the other hand, I did experience the long loading times, but the best comparison of the Bayonetta loading times is the Ninja Gaiden Sigma loading times. It was never really an issue for me in Ninja Gaiden, so it didn't really affect my experience with the game.

In my opinion, Bayonetta is the best action game so far available this generation. If you're looking for a pure action beat-em-up title, then definitely check out Bayonetta!
