Lynx-up and kill a few minutes blasting your enemies in this mediocre post-apocalypic car shooter.

User Rating: 6.5 | BattleWheels LYNX
This game is pretty straightforward, it's 2019 and you're the contestant of a violent demolition derby. All you need do is destroy all your opponents in arena style battles. You do this in a pre-made car, but you also have the option customize your own with varying armor, engine power, and suspension. If you're brave, you can also try it on foot. It's quite easy to maneuver your vehicle and it's handy to have a radar that shows you the enemy positions and also to be able to look out your side windows. If your car gets totaled, you might survive and have to hoof it giving you the chance to cause more damage before someone finishes you off. You'll be lucky to last long like this, and even luckier if it happens, but at least it gives you some chance. You have only a small array of weapons at your disposal; the usual machine guns, missiles, flame throwers, mines, and paint which will obscure your vision. The selection is good enough for the game. Any more, and you'd waste time cycling through them. The flame thrower can be a bit of a bother using, since it only fires from the side of your vehicle, but it's just a matter of getting used to.

The graphics are very good, considering. The Lynx does a very nice job handling the scaling. Both the sound effects and music are mediocre, but don't get annoying.

Overall, the game is fairly enjoyable to play, especially with your friends (you can have up to five of them play with you), but it isn't anything special, otherwise, even for an oldie. It'll most likely just make you crave a more recent title of the genre unless you're a hardcore retro gamer.
