A nice change of pace from other historical shooters.

User Rating: 8.5 | Battlestations: Pacific X360
I like shooting big guns and there's nothing like shooting a 15" salvo from an Iowa class battleship.

I played Battlestations:Midway but Pacific is a great improvement. First of all, there is no cheesy story line of two buddies and the war they wage. Midway was uninspiring in this regard. The voice acting isn't the most convincing in the latest rendition but at least you don't have to look at a characters drawn by amateur cartoonists.

The graphics are outstanding in Battlestations:Pacific. The ships & aircraft look real. The ground installations a bit less so. The physics seem right in flight and on the waves.

The missions are a mixed bag. Some are over sooner than expected and others appear un-ending. But all in all, they are a challenge and entertaining.

Multiplayer options are the key with several options of play. There's Island Capture, Duel, competition and a few others that escape me. What is missing is a cooperative mode for the Single-Player missions as available in COD:WaW which would have put my rating over the top.

I recommend this game to all who like a good air and sea shooter.
