The game is fun....until "connection to the server was lost (3)". A horrible bug that DICE won't fix.

So....when I got the closed Beta code (that I was part of a few months back). I was exited to try this game. All went well, installation went fine and the colourful cartoony menu appeared on my screen. You'll first get to play the introduction level explaining how the game works. It all seemed very nice for a free to play game and I couldn't wait to find a game online.

I made my character and got into battle, it was very fun but after a few minutes the following happened: With big letters "There is a problem with your connection." appeared in my screen. I was removed from the server and the (now feared) "Connection to sever was lost (3)" popped up. After some more testing I found out my internet connection had in fact not failed and the problem was with the game.

Now with a Beta you'd expect the company in question to take complaints seriously...hundreds of people had the same problem I did and there was one official(ish) response but after that NOTHING.

I did level up my character a few levels playing sessions of only a few minutes. The game does have potential but after a while getting disconnected ALL the time does get on ones nerves. So I decided to wait a while and try again later hoping DICE would fix this issue.

A few months later....the issue still existed...
I let them know on the forum I was not amused and quit again.
UNTIL today....I saw the Battlefield Heroes banner on the gamespot site and thought "Well they HAVE to have fixed it by now". It's been many many months since the release. And surely a bug that causes many players not to be able to play this game properly should have been fixed right? Right?!? WRONG.
It's still there, people are STILL complaining and it STILL has not been fixed.

The people at DICE seem to be a bunch of screwups....or they plain old don't care.
What can be a potentially fun game is ruined by something like this. Never before have I encountered something like this. Not a single other game I've played had connection issues.

There have been players that tried fixing it themselves. Unfortunately the fixes that are recommended include screwing with your modems built is security and don't work for most people. But this isn't the way it should be handled. DICE needs to fix this not the people themselves. Especially since most of the players experiencing this issue also don't have problems with other online games.

Bottom line: Game is fun as long as this bug does not effect you. But the way DICE handles issues like the one I'm having does raise a few eyebrows. I was considering buying Bad Company 2 but until this is fixed...I'm not buying any DICE related products.
