Battlefield Bad Company presents an amazing destructible world while still maintaining a great online experience...

User Rating: 8.5 | Battlefield: Bad Company X360
Battlefield Bad Company unlike previous Battlefield games takes the bold step in providing a nearly fully destructible environment for players to defend or destroy gold containers. In addition to the gold rush gameplay there is also the classic flag control gameplay available for free on the marketplace which is similar to the gameplay in the previous battlefield games.

The singleplayer, which hasn't been very good in past Battlefield games, is actually pretty decent with the comical cast of main characters and the always interesting mission goals. However, don't expect to be playing the singleplayer for very long as it is generally short in length.

The multiplayer is where most of your enjoyment of Battlefield Bad Company will take place. You can choose whether to play the gold rush or flag capture mode, there are numerous maps with varying environments, and all of your stats are recorded and can be easily viewed via menu options. In addition, over the course of gameplay you will be able to unlock different weapons for use.

The graphics in Battlefield Bad Company are great. With the new frostbite engine almost everything is destructible in game. Trees can be destroyed by tanks, wooden fences can be destroyed by bullets, and walls of buildings can be blown up to create shortcuts to your doomed enemies.

The controls might take a while to get the hand of. It's rather weird at first having all your weapons assigned to both bumpers. You push the bumper and your weapons cycle differently on both. Like the left bumper will have your throwing grenade and mines while your right bumper cycles between your main weapon and rocket launcher. Pushing in the left thumb stick makes your character run and clicking in the right thumb stick makes your character kneel or stand up. It's also important to note that there is no prone position available in Battlefield Bad Company. Prone was taken out of the game due to the fact that it would make players almost impossible to spot with the amount of foliage moving in the environment.

Overall Battlefield Bad Company makes great strides in turning the Battlefield franchise into a more realistic experience. The online community is still thriving and downloadable content is available for free on the marketplace. It's highly suggested you rent or purchase a copy of Battlefield Bad Company, you won't be disappointed.
