Veni, vidi, vici -- Julius Caesar. I came, I saw, I conquered is exactly what Battlefield: Bad Company 2 does.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 was released at time that required nearly perfect marks to be noticed and played... what I mean is the market for first person shooters was dominated by COD: Modern Warfare 2. However Battlefield Bad Company 2 (BBC2) came, was viewed, and conquered the market. (opinions vary)

Conquered?! Yes. Very few games come across in todays market where the maps and weapons are so balanced that player skill as a team and an individual player is so clear cut in the results of the match. With no major glitches, bullet drop, and destructible environment the gameplay online is enriched and requires what made multiplayer exciting and social: Communication, Teamwork, strategy, and once and a while risks everything that combat encompasses today. The squad spawn option is an addition I've never seen that adds to an offense and defenses abilties to control areas or move the lines of battle by spawning on a squad mates position as long as they aren't under fire.(or at least I think that is the only restriction) this new addition only enhances tactical awareness during gameplay and is a bonus. What this means is simply but the gameplay is a 10.

Flaws well personally I couldn't agree to a solid 10 or 9.5 based on a few mechanics within the game besides the destruction of buildings physics. The knife mechanics for both online and offline play are confusing there have been times were if have stabbed someone's rear but I miss according to the game. Ah? Care to explain... the speed of the knife to me wasn't a problem like it is for those accustom to other FPSs since that is more real time speed. Otherwise the in-game chat is restricted to just your squad during a match which bothers me in a room filled with friends. (requires a party to be formed). Finally single player mode while most players could care less is let's say uninteresting... to me at least at no point was I ascertaining any emotions of I really want or any emotions during the campaign (no shock and awe offline).

Graphics and map design is any game has done it better in a first person shooter your likely delusional. These maps when fully open can take 4-6 minutes to cross on foot. And Seems natural enough to pass as a non-fictional battleground. Finally the spawn points for online play are pretty close to flawless, let's just say the chances of death after spawning are 1 in 1000. My only complaint is the destruction is a great feature but why can't you destroy corners?

Tanks, Helicopters, and other mechanics of warfare o'my. Well I correct me if I am wrong but I believe the military forces of the world would argue bringing an element to push enemy lines back or make a critical objective push should always be used. These instruments of battle can change the tide of battle when used properly they aren't unbalanced and are easy to control when using. Including these in the game again was a good decision by EA, they allow a heavy fortified position to be hammered down or destroyed a feature used to prevent against (campers) and a required element within first person online play.

The single player mode is somewhat ridiculous story wise but fun to play. I will not disclose spoilers but let's say somehow rambo's clones encompasses a squad of marines who can tackle entire towns at some points and stopping a super weapon.

But all together a really impressive first person shooter. I haven't enjoyed a multiplayer FPS this much well ever. I highly suggest BBC2 since the tactics that can be employed are nearly endless and have a real feel to them. And the game just feels like a modern war which is its purpose. Mission accomplished EA, Hoorah!
