Battlefield 4 is sadly a rush jobbed mess compiled with great promises.

## What can i say? Battlefield 3 was amazing. Sure the PS3 version (and the 360 version) was scaled back due to limitations, no one could deny it was a spectacular game filled with epic moments and genuinely it was a good time. Yea the campaign was bland but honestly, who plays Battlefield for the story? (Its success was based mostly on its A+ multiplayer.) I was so excited when EA announced its sequel for a 2013 release, though i was concerned aswell, because it was coming out a week earlier then Call of Duty Ghost (Which turned out to be garbage.)

I was right to be concerned...

Where oh where do i begin. The little of the campaign i played felt poorly done and had given me zero to no reasons to care about ANYONE. Sadly even if i did decide to continue, my save data decided for me because the campaign reseted itself on me several times...if this was launch ok, but its almost 2015. Im sorry but as bad as the story is, some people DO play campaigns and the fact that its busted so badly right now is just plain sad. Whatever, i didnt pay 30 bucks to play a story mode. I hopped into Team Deathmatch to get used to the new maps and this is where the problems begin. Firstly the PS3 (and most likely the 360 edition aswell) version has a glitch at the start of every round where the texture get wigged out as badly as a PS1 game, affecting the iron sights HORRIBLY. This is unacceptable, Battlefield 3 from 2011 didnt have these problems, not even at launch.

But oh well, maybe its because its last gen, the game itself shouldnt be bad right? Well as far as maps go, Theyre average but they clearly werent built for team deathmatch in mind. If your a team deathmatch guy, do yourself a favor and avoid this game. I play conquest but sometimes if i just want a quick session or 2, team deathmatch in Battlefield 3 would satisfy. But the selected spaces feel half assed. Just look at its chopped off version of Flood zone. Its so badly designed it feels DICE invited Infinity Ward to design it, because $%%$ it right? The hit detection has also taken a hit. In Battlefield 3 it had issues SOMETIMES but in Battlefield 4 im always feeling like im being handicapped. I thought maybe it was the guns but sadly its apparently an issue.

Even if you managed to overcome these issues, the game has plenty of server issues to prevent you from playing anything at periods of time. Ive seriously only been able to play Team Deathmatch because everytime i tried to join another game mode id get a "Lost connection to server" message. This is still a problem even after we yelled so much for it to be freaking patched...I also find it dumb i cant edit my weapons or soldier unless i join a game. Why? It was fine as it was in Battlefield 3, Why oh Why would you change it. The controls also have been changed to a more Call of Duty style, because thats what everyone wants to be reminded of when we play Battlefield right? Did i also mention the servers are bad? I did? Well just making sure because they are horrible...

The reason i didnt rate this lower because if the game was ever functional, it has potential to be a really fun game. Matches (Even Team deathmatches, if thats believable) are extremely chaotic and the squad feature has been fixed, so playing and working together with friends will be allot simpler and definetly beats leaving and joining sessions until they get lucky and join the right team.

So in the end, Battlefield 4 is sadly a broken game. Does EA care? No, theyre too busy selling off Battlepacks (Microtransactions) and DLC maps to really care if its broken. If it sells they have no reason to really give a damn because idiots eat this stuff up. Maybe it has to do with the fact that i bought the last gen version. Even if that wasnt the case, i dont feel like i should waste cash on a PS4 edition for a prettier broken disaster. Heres hoping Battlefield Hardline is a game that will remind me why i started playing Battlefield in the 1st place, otherwise, EA is losing a loyal customer...
