I know I wont get any likes for the review... and I care less.
I bought the game at launch. almost couldn't wait, as I am huge BF (PC) fan...
played close to 10 hrs and I have a feeling I wont play much more. i am not going to disrespect battlefield 4 in any way. its still a good game, with amazing engine. but there are few things that I don't like/hate:
1. graphics:
looks good, but textures are way to dark. dark usually ruins the visuals for me. usually increased GAMMA settings works for me. there is no option in the settings. found a way to do it through NVidia prog... again, simple in game option would help.
2. gameplay:
for me, gameplay is way to fast paced. everyone running like maniacs (what's up with the unlimited "sprint"????? i feel like "flash" running through the maps), vehicles are always on the go full speed, boats are circling in the bays spraying bullets none stop, also full speed.... sky is crowded with planes, helis, drones. as soon as you stop for a sec to scratch your nose, you get hit with rpg.
its almost like more is better.... but personally, its to much going on at the same time.
also, I do not see any squad play... all I see is 64 rambos running around, spraying bullets all over the place. game is not rewarding team play. you get very few point for reviving teammates, and honestly, its not common to see someone reviving fallen soldier.
3. sound:
might be good. but doesn't have that war feel in it. explosion, weapon fire is not realistic. some weapons sound really bad. for some reason my surround doesn't work well, had to change it to stereo. probably there is a quick fix, just didn't have will to look into it. game is sub par at the moment, sound on its own wont fix it for me.
4: and now, the winner of all:
lots of crashes/freezes. probably every second game or so. its not a biggy, as you can reconnect again, but its frustrating because loading times are slow. few minutes to load a map. when i sit down to play for and hour, i spent 10 minutes looking at loading screens.
I think I will get back to BF4 in the future, but for now will play ARMA 3 multiplayer.... and occasionally BF3. still have some weapons to unlock and etc.
if you ask me, a little disappointed. again, if compared to other games, its not a bad one
