Just bought one for the ps3. This controller is very good other than the analog sticks are way to stiff compared to the ps3. I was told replacement analog sticks with different tension are coming. You can go to gameshark to customize  the controller. The best option are the height spacers which are made of metal. You get four for 10$, 2 7mm and 2 4mm spacers and you can combine them to make your analog11mm, awesome. http://store.gameshark.com/listCategoriesAndProducts.asp?idCategory=451

And now for my response.. *sigh* really? what the hell is this? I MIGHT have considered buying this if both my controllers would break and this would cost the same price as they do.. wait it's wired and has no option for wireless.. yeah I wouldent buy it for a normal price either..

Wow, really good review, seems exactly what I would think about it if I would get it.

Gamespot should let him do more reviews, like on Gaming keyboards or mouses, or even GPU's in a way

No force feedback, no wireless, no this, no that.... I assume there's nothing pro at all !

ps: I get why they took out the vibration and it's wired, it's because they need to concentrate and it's more healthy not having the vibration for long periods of gaming, the wireless has a tiny delay compared to wired ones, but, how this company pretend to profit selling only to some few players?????

...so is this the controller they HAVE to use in the pro circut tournaments? or is this just some half ass promo?

Not a bad idea, overpriced, but this reminds me of the days when people trip over the controller cable thus pulling down the entire console, FUUUUUUUU.

 @Philly04

yep, my dog did this to my PS2 in the past, and now, this controller has a super lock security ring, which means that your cable won't unplug and your console will fly! lol

this is not the way to go to be a better gamer....

If you want to play pro level the best way to go is wired.( less latency in your inputs) I say that as I play Fighting games with fight sticks. I'm sure the same rule applies to shooters as well. And as for the D Pad being terrible on this controller. MLG sadly doesn't take fighting games seriously and it shows both here in this controller and in the tournaments they have.

I've heard different from other reviewers about the D-pad but it's still a hundred bucks. If they could drop it down to 50 bucks I would buy it just because MadCat finally made a decent controller for once. Come on MadCat your markets the cheap gamer. The I only want to spend 20 bucks on a controller gamer. Not the rich prick gamer.

lol Mad Catz. They either make garbage knockoff quality controllers, or a moderately decent controller with a ridiculously high price tag. Can this company EVER get it right?

"The Xbox 360 stock controller is perfect, with the exception of the d-pad." 100% right @dhvl2712"

I really don't get braided cables. They suck. The braided cover always slides around on the inner core so you eventually have to cut it, either partially or entirely, off so that the cord doesn't constantly have kinks.

The thing I hate most about the XBox 360 controller is the D-Pad. Microsoft needs to take the PS3's D-Pad or the one on this Pro Circuit Controller

twztid13

Saved me money by mentioning the d-pad. All I wanted was a 360 controller with a sony d-pad (although I am very picky about the analogs, and prefer OEM MS nubs).

Do more hardware reviews in the future. I liked this even though I'm not even a console gamer. What's the purpose of the weights? I can understand the benefits of a heavy keyboard but why put them in a controller?

@Peter Brown exactly what I thought Peter. I don't like the dpad either. But for someone who is closer to the gaming industry then I am, maybe you should suggest that they do something about it. One of my wishes is that, since the modules are interchangeable, why not make a smooth dpad for it? Like the alps interactive ps1 batarang controller. Love the dpad from that. Customization for this would be very very nice.

The licencing for an *WIRELESS* xbox 360 controller is exorbitant - that is why there are NO wireless 3rd party controllers for the xbox.

NightLord47
NightLord47

The standard 360 controller D-pad almost never works well. About half the 360 controllers I've had has had inresponsive D-pads. Crazy, considering how long they've been around. Why can't someone fix this??

I'll stick to my XBOX and PS3 controllers I reckon. I like been 5m away from my telly.
