Battlefield isnt known for its singleplayer but i will say that BC2 had a superb singleplayer, in addition to a multiplayer that may still be unrivaled on consoles. ( depends on i you like better than BF3). Its a shame that Dice sortof failed with this sngleplayer... if they didnt include it it would have gotten a 9 at least.
@mad-at-nintendo BC2 had superior single player? What are you on man? I traded in that game as soon as the campaign was done it was so bland. You never played a good FPS campaign before or you are on crack, BC2 campaign was bad.
1 Like I was so close to the finish the xbox 360 turned off and I lost everything. So I had to start from the beginning then I finished it in two days. AWESOME GAME.
bf3's single player campaign is actually pretty good imo....the mp isn't as good as people say it is

1 Like I mainly play games offline, that being said I cant believe I bought this bleedin game!! It seemed like only a couple of missions long!! and they weren't even that fun! can't believe I wasted 5 bleedin dollars on this game!!!
My only beef with this game is that the hud elements and unlocks get in the way. I hate capturing a flag only to get killed because the enemy was behind a big circle in the middle of the screen, or the new weapon that just dropped down to take up a third of the screen. an example of this can be seen in the video at 3:04. It also removes you from the realism, intensity, and blocks the gorgeous graphics.
I honestly wonder if this game would have got a better review if dice did what they did for bf2 and 1942 and just release a multiplayer game.
1 Like Is it me, or am I the only one starting to question if its that the reviewers in Gamespot have a personal preference for the Call of Duty series? Why just an 8.5? Why is it that EVERY COD has gotten pretty much NO less than a 9.0 and they are pretty much more of the same, with just a few tweaks, and weapons. Yet, always a 9.0. this is with out a doubt one of the best Multiplayers. How is it that this scores less??? Just for its campaign????CoD campaigns aren't all that either. Really, I DON't understand. Truly I dont. this review is disapppointing.
This game's campaign is the worst I've played all year and the multiplayer is the best I've played all year. Battlefield 4 should be online only. Scrap the campaign and add more maps.
I continue to remain puzzled why the tone of this review is so negative while from the sound of it all you need to have a fun FPS experience is MW3. MW3 has scripted moments, Russian bad guys, etc too...
This game deserves a 9.0 at least. Wtf. yeah the story mode is not that good but the everything else is just amazing. Graphics are amazing. HUGE *** MAPS. Sound is freaking crazy and so realistic. Destruction brings a whole new level of gameplay. Animations are very real. Vehicles are fun as hell. And knifing people has never been more satisfying. Seriously this game stomps the crap mw3.
they are are little hard on the single player! i thought i was great! great action, great visual, and a story that keeps you going!
@bluebird08 True that mate. People just sledge it coz apparently it has too much in common with it's "Competitors". It's still an enjoyable experience. In the end thts what counts.
ps if you live in uk, you can get the limited edition which has a free download of DLC at Smyths toy shops for £24.99 now. Ps i live in the north east dunno if its national or just regional!!!! well worth a tumble!!!

i still think MW3 is a little better only because it got a billion dollars. that is the only reason
got this last weekend for £26 after paying to get online and finishing single player i can say i love this game
@ellisbill Not having prone is just as balanced as having prone, its not like some people have it and others don't...
@JudgeSim Lol the game came out nearly one month ago, what will you expect , even Moh Airborn and Resistance 2 still has people who play them even after long time of release.
I dont know why everyone is hating on the prone position. It is a position in which soldiers actually use in war, and I was actually highly dissapointed when BFBC2 DIDNT have prone, not because I camp on the ground all day, but because it takes away from the individual skill and challenges of players and the game, limiting players so that everyone is the same.
I was planing to buy this game next year. But when I saw the review I've bought in the following day ):
BF3 is the sh*t. It's a ton of fun, but most important it's balanced. No cheap kills or players getting easy kills ( turrets & automated unmanned guns) and I don't know why everybody's complaining about the maps, the maps are great, well designed, big, and varied. Can't wait to get my hands on the dlc early
No one get offended. Just a personal opinion of mine but I thought BF3 was crap. Campaign was just totally weird - it wasn't bad but it's like totally unlike Battlefield. The online was awesome at first glance, but as I got the 360 version - it felt more like a BFBC2. It plays better and graphically enhanced but I still feel that it's not as AMAZING as most people say it is. I'd recommend others to only check it out if they're into military FPS shooters.
