We talk to Magnus about assault-medics, multiplayer matches, and persistent unlocks.
I hate how this game gets much less recognition than MW3, simply because they had MW1, which was, admittably awesome, but MW3's gameplay is going to go stale, considering there are barely any graphics changes, and the same old engine
I want them to have online splitscreen! And those are some amazing animations, graphics, and... well game!
(@scaredy squirrel) I understand your concern, but I heard the same thing told about Crysis 2 when it was announced for Xbox 360. Crysis 2 is probably the best looking console game to date. On another note: BF3 will own all, regardless of sales. Any mentally challenged 8 year old can pick up a controller and play Call of Duty but Battlefield takes skill and teamwork to get the job done. I'm not dogging on the COD franchise at all but the fanboys need to realize Battlefield owns all, 'nuff said.
I may buy this game but not until I see how it runs on the consoles. It's easy to brag about how big and good looking it's going to be when you're running it on a top end PC. This game comes out in the Fall and they haven't shown one bit of console footage period! That makes me think the console game will be a very watered down version of the PC game, If the console game runs at 20 frames per second with maps that are half the size I'm just going to skip it. If it's satisfactory I'll pick it up and MW3 and see what game I find more fun to play online.
@tframp420 - Some people do consider the Battlefield series in its entirety to be all one series. I'm not going off of my personal opinion, which is in agreement with you, but with what this guy in this interview above stated. :)
@bschroth if there was mod tools and map making that would be possible but sadly we dont get full mod capabilities.
I think they should do a tanks only map, kinda like the air superiority map in 1943. It'd be kinda cool when you just wanna mess around.
For those who will play on ur remote connected to pc... XD good luck Ill be running reviving everything in my path and Flying my copter or Jet... I HOPE WE CAN DO MEDI-COPTER BF2 style LoL Why do we have to wait to see we need a new computer O.o
Now this looks good. MW3 on the other hand, looks like old news. If I was going to buy one of them, it would be this. Oh, and to hell with console footage. Play on a real system.
@penguins227 Bad Company is not the same series... BF3 is the successor to BF2 which has nothing to do with the Bad Company series. Previous Battlefield games had no single player unless you consider bots on multiplayer maps single player. Same company, both 1st person shooters, different series.
@sgonzales3478 - Actually, the battlefield series has had a singleplayer campaign for two games now, this being the third. Bad Company 1, Bad Company 2, and BF3. They actually said that in the interview...
and this game HAS to use the ps SharpShooter, just look at killzone 3 and socom on how well it used the device
i really want to see console footage, its nice to see they are giving PC users a true High end PC game, but in the end of the day, the game will sell more on the consoles. need to see how much of a downgrade the graphics/gameplay will be like on consoles now.!!!
im a fan of both battlefield and cod, and this year is going to be amazing with battlefield 3, and mw3. no bs i am more exited about battlefield 3 and im sure most of my time will be playing it.
Wow, love it. Cant wait! Im not saying I wont get call of duty (because i know alot of my friends will have it, and it isnt a bad game for laughs ), but come on...BF3 is obviously superior. I hope it sells better than Cod, but thinking realisticly - It may not, the main reason is that Cod has been played and released more, that people will buy it regardless...even if it is worse. Even if it was called "Call of duty - fluffy bunny paradise" - people will just get it without thinking sadly (commercialism eh? lol).
@Y2KAZZ I totally agree with all of your points --- one minor thing I didn't like about BFBC2 was when joining a game, sometimes it would place me into a match with, say, 5 players in total... when I know there are 100,000+ people online... :s
@kitarapso I think there's a way to do it, you need to hook up the controller to the comp or something, I dunno, but I've seen videos of people playing PC with a PS3 or 360 controller.
I find it funny how people who love The battlefield series, they go and post on the MW3/Black ops pages, And the "CoD" Fans to exactly the same on here, They're both unique in their own ways, i love my FPS's as much as the next guy, but flaming each other over games is pretty sad don't you think, i know everybodies entitled to an opinion and thats fine, but sometimes, some opinions are better left unsaid! Im sure a few of you guys agree with me on that one...First Person Shooters are the future...Fact!
BF3 looks BOSS. Some minor gripes I hope they address from BFBC2: - More vehicles / quicker vehicle respawn on the larger maps (e.g. Heavy Metal, so you are not standing around waiting at home base for a ride or walking the whole way) - Introduction of game lobbies (so you can tell prior to getting into a game if your team is completely outmatched, allowing you to quit sooner rather than later) - Better matchmaking algorithms - better incentive system / more points for team based play and objectives - to 'educate' the influx of lone wolf type players that will inevitably come over from COD. I don't mind the newer players - but we need to get them up to speed quickly
Wow, what a huge leap forward in innovation by adding a campaign!!!! This looks just as unimpressive as MW3. Neither one looks better than the other!! Both are just typical war games with new graphics!!! Big woop!!!!
When I finally get my hands on the multiplayer I guarantee I will end up dying A LOT because I'd be too busy admiring the scenery
The scenes on the Paris metro are just impressive. The Frostbite engine simply pwns Modern Warfare's one but sadly this will sell a hell lot more...
@ ManKelly Yeah, we should definitely break with our girlfriends - we have a new one now. Her name is Battlefield 3 and she likes to do it in groups :D
This game deserves everything in the world, but because people are idiots games like Modern Warfare 3 will thrive. Battlefield for life.
This could be definitely my favorite game ever.. so far so good Dice pretty good indeed. You sure know to please the costumers instead of MW guys I will buy this one for sure ! Absolutely the game of the year :D
