Not your normal regurgitation, this is squarely two steps backward.
I just don't get it.
Same exact mission events, environments, weapons and gameplay from dozens of games past... now complete with retro bugs where entire squads disappear.
Yeah, I'm old, yeah I'm jaded but this is the truth nonetheless. Me? I am waiting for something new... something ACTUALLY worth my time and money. I don't have the time to play game after game mindlessly like I used to when I didn't have responsibility... so when I game it needs to be great. This game is good, but not great.
Graphics are solid but night missions with lightning brings my SLI 560's to their knees... and I mean my machine CRAWLS when lightning strikes. Motion Blur effects in the first 60 seconds of game load bogs machine down as well, but after a bit... no issue. You'd think EA did this one.
An 8.5 today doesn't mean much... I mean seriously, look at the past 12 months of reviews, sort the games in descending order based on score and just look at what we have... some half-decent stuff posing as 8.5's.
IF PC gaming is dying, all one needs to do is evaluate the product.
